中国地理大发现指以黄河流域为中心的华夏文明对自身与周边地理环境的探索和认知，指以中土为中心的中原文明对自身与域外地理环境的探索和认知，指文明社会对前所未知的地理世界的探索和认知。我们追寻张骞通西域、唐僧取经、郑和下西洋的足迹，探寻长江、黄河、淮河的源头，揭开罗布泊、黄土高原成因之谜，发现第四纪冰川的遗迹，攀登珠穆朗玛峰，深入小寨天坑，回眸地球生命诞生之初，遥想徐福东渡前后……让我们知晓这些大发现的来龙去脉，记住这些发现者，传承他们孜孜不倦、坚韧不拔的探索精神，奉献我们的心智于广袤无垠、气象万千的中华大地，进而续写中国地理大发现的华章。

胡阿祥 1963年出生，安徽桐城人。文学博士，南京大学历史学院教授，六朝博物馆馆长，南京六朝文化研究中心主任，天水师范学院飞天学者讲座教授。中国地理学会历史地理专业委员会委员，中国魏晋南北朝史学会荣誉副会长，江苏省六朝史研究会会长，中古中国学会理事会（美国）理事等。百家讲坛主讲人。主要学术领域为中国历史地理、中国中古文史、地名学。
彭安玉 1962年出生，江苏扬州人。江苏省行政学院教授，《唯实》杂志副总编。江苏省333人才工程学科带头人，中共江苏省委宣传部、江苏省社科联、江苏省教育厅评审专家。
